Weed Control Hard Landscape
R. & D. Spray Services Ltd is the leading company when it comes to street and pavement weed spraying. Not content to accept existing spray machines/equipment which were not designed for the specific job of street spraying, we set about designing and fabricating our own specialist spray machine.
With over 20 years’ experience in spraying streets, we were able to incorporate many features which vastly improves the safety of spraying in the streets both for the general public and the spray operators as well as the environment.
Our Street Sprayer is a centre pivoting hydrostatic machine providing high manoeuvrability and operator comfort which is important in a job that requires absolute concentration at all times. A shrouded centre boom and two side booms which can be manoeuvred in and out hydraulically, allow a much more accurate targeting of emerged weeds. The boom nozzles are all controlled by electric solenoid switches which like the hydraulic boom controls, are all easily at hand. There are two tanks, one on the rear of the vehicle and one at the front. Both these tanks hold only water. A direct injection system is incorporated which accurately injects the required rate of chemical mixture to the booms. The chemical tank is positioned in a shielded position thus limiting any possibility of rupturing.
The benefits of this system are:
- No manual mixing of chemical, alleviating any possibility of incorrect dosage.
- Less handling of chemical by the Operator.
- No excess mixture to get rid of at the end of the day.
- No requirement to wash out tanks.
- No danger of chemical leakage in the event of a ruptured tank.
Here's what others say...
Midlothian Council has found R & D Spray Services a reliable contractor. The spraying of all of Midlothian has always been undertaken timously, normally within a ten day period. The contractor has required little supervision and has promptly responded to and dealt with complaints. Standards of weed control on site have been good and therefore complaints from the public have been minimal.
